has just booked an appointment to give notice of marriage....£33.50 each for me and then h2b - is that normal?
- bluloothat sounds bout right, we paid something like that to give notice x
- amyevansthats what we paid and then because we want to registrar to come to our venue its another £280 x
- emmalouiseWow jealous i had to pay £400 for mine to come to hotel xx @amyevans
- mrsctobeAUTORThanks ladies.....just got really confused as the church said it was £33.50 per couple, not each. Lol h2b won't be too happy as it'll mess up his spreadsheet hehe x
- dancing_girlYes that's normal, it's what anyone wanting to marry in England has to pay regardless of where they're getting married. Xx
- amyevans@emmalouise we're getting married on a friday so that mite be why its cheaper x
- mrsctobeAUTOR@dancing_girl thanks hun, it was just the church had said less, so thought I'd check
x
- dancing_girl@mrsctobe I think it's a bit of a ripoff for a ten minute chat with the registrar and a piece of paper! Glad I won't be getting fleeced for a registrar at the wedding too! :o) Xx
- mrsctobeAUTOR@dancing_girl us too - our priest is able to do the registration bit for us and as he's a close friend, not only will it feel more personal, it'll work out cheaper
xx
- dancing_girlAhh, that's lovely! :o) I'm a practising Catholic, so my parish priest who has known me for about ten years will be conducting the marriage service. I think it's nice if they know you personally, although I understand not everyone has that option. And there is no charge, the church just asks for a donation, which I'm more than happy to give. Xx
