Hubby and I got married on 8th of September 2012. We started TTC following our 1st wedding anniversary and got our BFP on 28th/29th of September :) I'm a social worker for children with disabilities. I also do charity work at a weekend with children and young people with disabilities :)

Absolutely beside myself with this henny now: Sister who got married in May is no longer coming to MY henny in Glasgow cos she has HER FRIEND'S WEDDING that same day and doesn't want to let HER down!!!! So that's 6 for Glasgow when I was supposed to have 7, when I was originally supposed to have about 12 :/ Suitably blackmailed her into getting her to sort out my Henny meal in Aberdeen as...

      • afrodyeteI know it's your henny but it this is a close friend of her's you can't be mad at her if she goes to the wedding. But why did she leave it this late to let you know as the wedding would of been planed ages ago.....but if she isn't a close friend then boooooooooo not a good move 😞

          I've been really upset all day cos I found this out just right before I went to bed so I was up til 1am just being mad and then woke up feeling sad and angry. Makes little sense. I know it seems silly but as you all know I've not been made a priority by many within my inner circle since getting engaged and this Sister is just putting the icing on the cake in terms of her treatment of me during her own engagement/wedding. If it is such a close friend, then why would she not know the date of her wedding with only a month to go???? and why shouldn't I be the priority if I am family? I am always expected to understand and make allowances for people but I never get the same back and I am fed up of being the door-mat. Had to pay out for her place on the cocktail making and had already paid the bus transport down so I am making her pay that back to me.. xx

          • emmlougood glad your making her pay! surely she knew her firends wedding date when you started booking your hen??? one of my friends asked me if we could swap the day due to the same reason and that was after 5 minutes of telling her the date! luckily we could so she could go to both! cant believe shes left it this late! so tactless! x

            • jen150912Ohh honey... I'd be making her pay back the cocktail making too, that's not fair of her at all!! I totally empathise with the 'not a priority' feeling, as I'm feeling it too, and it sucks. I hope you're feeling even just a tiny wee bit better Gemma xx

                Oh don't worry @jen150912  - i am making her pay back the money that's been spent on her AND I am openly and unconfrontationally gonna put her in her place on Sunday. The invite to her evening reception back in May was purely tokenistic and it has not gone unnoticed. Sadly I am not feeling much better because revelation number 2 is about to hit my status bar.... Cip's Bro (best man) still doesn't have his ticket to come over for the wedding and has been told by Cip's parents that he doesn't NEED to come because he was at the engagement ceremony in Romania and because they are paying for him to resit the exams he missed when he went on rebellion mode at the start of the year, they cant afford to pay for him to come - so he went and spent the money he kept for the ticket on something else!!!!!!!! xxx

                    I KNOW!!! H2B is not happy - he spoke to his Brother and it appears that they are at it!!! They shouldn't have been telling him not to come. Now it looks like H2b is annoyed with his parents and told me he's going to have to pay for his Brother's ticket to come to the wedding if we want him to be there - I AM NOT A HAPPY BUNNY!! New MOH was really good though when I spoke to her this morning saying how much she will be there for me. Ex MOH was as much good as a chocolate teapot when I tried to speak to her about my Sister ('thats's not so good' was the standard response) and only focussed on where she needed to be and when for the henny in Aberdeen, even though I told her this weeks ago!!! Then had the nerve to tell me she might be late unless she can get her shift changed cos she finishes at 6pm, gets home at 6.30pm then needs to get herself ready - so no chance of her actually making the effort to dress up the venue or anything as a suprise.... xxx
